Brand Name: Didymos
Size of Wrap: 4
Fabric Content: 100% cotton
How long has this wrap been used by you?
A couple of weeks, it is here on loan.
What size is the wrappee?
I have two: My primary wrappee is 15 months, 30" tall and about 26 pounds. My other wrappee is 4, 39" tall and about 34 pounds.
What are the exact measurements?
This wrap came to me already washed, so I only have post-wash measurements to give. I am getting 3.79m long, 65 cm wide, weighing in at 524 grams. This gives an area density (or what we often refer to as weight) of 213 g/m2. This places it in the medium-thin category for Didymos.
Does it have cush?
Yes! The weave structure gives this wrap a spongy, airy feel. It is very squishy. It's a tri-color weave, and tri-weave is what Didy does best.
How does it feel on your shoulders?
Really good. I was pleasantly surprised, as I tend to prefer wraps with greater density these days, but I had no digging or strain in my shoulders when using this wrap in a ruck (the ultimate test for me as far as shoulder comfort).
How much diagonal stretch does the wrap have?
A very nice amount, I would put it firmly in the "medium" camp for diagonal stretch.
How supportive did you find it in a single layer carry?
This is a "skintight wrap job" wrap. For me, that equals great support, especially with bigger babies and toddlers. It doesn't have high density or an inherently structured quality like linen or hemp, but it molds so perfectly that you don't miss the beef.
How supportive did you find it in a double layer carry?
It was very comfortable. Passes glide easily, making a snug wrap job easy to achieve.
Can you compare this wrap to another wrap already on the market?
I have been pondering this question and I honestly cannot think of anything quite like it. It has that favorite-old-t-shirt softness of a Vatanai jacquard wrap, but with a bit more texture. It feels like something you want to snuggle with on the couch. It has a silky fluidity that reminds me just a bit of a Pavo Menagerie wrap, though without mercerized cotton it certainly doesn't have the same sheen to it, and it is quite a bit lighter and more airy.
Who do you think this wrap would best be geared to?
This is a wrap that would be wonderful and easy to use for newborns and new wrappers, but seasoned wrappers with older children will delight in something different from Didy, and all will thoroughly enjoy the snuggly, comforting quality of this wrap.
Would you recommend this wrap to a friend? Why? What did you love about it?
Yes, I absolutely would recommend it for all of the reasons above. I can't stop petting this wrap; it's sitting on my lap right now as I'm typing this up. I love green wraps and this one is no exception. The thread colors mix in various ways to create different shades of green throughout.
Please tell us a little more about yourself:
I have been wrapping since my oldest child was born (so about 4 years now). I'm a VBE and Board Treasurer for BWI of North Central Illinois. My wrap stash is almost entirely 100% cotton wraps; they never do me wrong!
