Brand Name: Natibaby
Size of Wrap: 6
How long has this wrap been used by you?
3 weeks
What size is the wrappee?
14 months, 29 in, 20lbs
What is the thickness of this wrap?
Thick!
Does it have cush?
Yes! Argyle is super cushy, bouncy, springy! It absorbed impact like shocks on a car. When it arrived to me it felt somewhat like a two by four in hand and I have to admit, I was quite hesitant to see its wrapping qualities. After a hot wash, tumble dry and steam iron, this baby softened up a great deal. While I still wouldn’t describe it as super moldable post-wash, it definitely relaxed enough to be deemed CUSHY!
How does it feel on your shoulders?
Incredibly supportive. Secure. Firm.
How much diagonal stretch does the wrap have?
Just a bit of stretch.
How supportive did you find it in a single layer carry?
The single layer carries are where it’s at with Argyle. This puppy is supportive with a capital S! My toddler didn’t budge in a ruck. A single knot is all you need with the grip that Argyle has to offer! It also felt wide compared to the other wraps we’ve tried, so seat popping just wasn’t an option for him. I loved single layer carries because we benefited from the strength of the wrap without having to wrestle it too much during wrapping.
How supportive did you find it in a double layer carry?
Honestly, a double layer carry required a lot of effort for this heavy, grippy wrap. After trying many double layer carries, and a DRS2S in particular, I sat at my computer, covered in sweat and literally aching from pulling passes tight, ready to write this review. Breathing deeply, I thought “That was such a work out.” But you know that amazing, accomplished feeling you get right after working out? Yeah, this felt like that, but on crack. My toddler was essentially weightless. I was amazed. He fell asleep while I wrote, then I got up and tidied the house, and even danced a little. It totaled about one hour. He. Did. Not. Move. An. Inch. It was incredible. So, YES! Very supportive in a double layer carry.
Can you compare this wrap to another wrap already on the market?
It really felt like Natibaby Squares in wrapping qualities, just turned up a notch. Perhaps because Squares is 30% Hemp and Argyle is 50%.
Who do you think this wrap would best be geared to?
This is totally a toddler wrap! I’d also recommend babywearers get a bit of wrapping experience before they give Argyle a spin. (Not that you have to be advanced, but just schooled on a couple of staple carries.)
Would you recommend this wrap to a friend? Why? What did you love about it?
Blue Argyle is a beast of a wrap. Like fire-breathing dragon quality. It will require some persistence when it comes to breaking in and wrapping. But “nothing worth having ever comes easy.” For those of you willing to brave the dragon, to tame the beast, this wrap is SO WORTH IT! It may be one of the most rock solid wraps I’ve ever tried. I would absolutely recommend it to a friend. The pattern is cheeky and fun. It’s different. The wrong side is just as interesting as the right side. The tri-weave is mesmerizing. Just a hint of shimmer. I could stare at it through a magnifying glass all day. But let’s be real, there are dishes to be done.
Please tell us a little more about yourself:
I have only been babywearing for a year. I started with my son, Cameron the day we came home from the hospital. I am a SAHM mom so I wear VERY often. I also nanny for two other babies. Another toddler and a squish. So someone is always strapped to me. I would say I’ve probably sampled around 40-50 wraps. I’ve just fallen in love with the whole world. Down the rabbit hole I go!
